AI visibility data from our client sites
Two reports show site owners how their pages appear in AI answers: the Generative AI features report in Google Search Console and the AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools. Below are unedited screenshots from client accounts.
AP Transit
in Google's generative AI features in 28 days, October 8 to November 4, 2026
Between 3,300 and 11,500 impressions a day, with the peak on November 2. In Bing, the same site earned 4,700 Copilot citations over three months earlier in the year.

Microsoft Copilot citations from Bing Webmaster Tools, three-month window ending April 2026:
AP Transit
in 3 months, 9 pages cited on an average day
Daily citations grew from about 10 to around 90 over the three months, spread across an average of 9 cited pages.

New York Hoops Academy
in 3 months, 7 pages cited on an average day
Around 20 citations on a typical day with spikes near 90, spread across 7 pages of the academy site.

Slick Moving
in 3 months, 3 pages cited on an average day
A small local service site can still earn steady AI citations: about 12 a day across 3 pages.

Google's report counts impressions of a site's pages in generative AI features such as AI Overviews and AI Mode. Bing's report counts citations in Microsoft Copilot and partners. For ChatGPT and Perplexity we track referral traffic and share of answers for a fixed set of questions.
How AI search engines choose which sites to cite
AI search tools don't show ten blue links. They run a web search, read a handful of pages and quote the passages that answer the question most directly. Each engine draws on a different index:
Where answers come from
- ChatGPT search: its own crawler (OAI-SearchBot) plus search partners
- Microsoft Copilot: the Bing index
- Google AI Overviews and AI Mode: the Google index
- Perplexity: its own crawler (PerplexityBot) and other sources
What gets a page cited
- The engine's crawler can reach and read the page without JavaScript
- One paragraph answers the question on its own
- Facts are specific: prices, locations, dates, numbers
- Tables and lists that are easy to lift into an answer
What gets a business named
- The same name, address and description everywhere online
- Reviews and listings on sites the engines already trust
- Mentions in articles, directories, Reddit and YouTube
- Clear schema.org markup for the business and its services
GEO vs SEO: what changes
GEO doesn't replace SEO. AI tools retrieve pages from search indexes, so a page that isn't indexed or ranks poorly is rarely cited. GEO adds the work that classic SEO usually skips.
| SEO | GEO | |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | Rank pages in search results | Get quoted and cited inside AI answers |
| What wins | The page as a whole | A single passage, fact or table on the page |
| Where it shows | Google and Bing results, Google Maps | ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini |
| Main signals | Relevance, links, page experience | Crawler access, self-contained answers, consistent entity data, third-party mentions |
| How it's measured | Rankings, clicks, Search Console | Citations, AI referral traffic, share of answers for tracked questions |
| Starting point | Technical audit | AI visibility audit on top of a healthy SEO base |
What our GEO service includes
AI visibility audit
We run the questions your buyers ask, such as "best moving company in Brooklyn" or "how much does a website cost in NYC", through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Mode, and record who gets named and cited.
Crawler access
robots.txt rules for OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Bingbot and Googlebot, server-rendered HTML that reads without JavaScript, and IndexNow so Bing learns about every change right away.
Answer-ready pages
Question-style headings, direct answers of 40 to 60 words, comparison tables, and prices and dates stated plainly, so a model can lift one passage and credit your site.
Entity and schema
Organization, service and location markup, and the same name, address, phone and description across your site, Google Business Profile, directories and social profiles.
Mentions beyond your site
AI answers lean on third-party sources. We get your business into the reviews, directories, lists and discussions that the engines already cite for your category.
Monthly tracking
Impressions in Google's generative AI features from Search Console, citations from Bing Webmaster Tools, AI referral sessions in GA4 from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and Copilot, and your share of answers for the tracked questions.
